MiRi Park

MiRi Park (aka Seoulsonyk) teaches hip-hop at NYU Steinhardt School of Education dance program at NYU. She holds an MA in American Studies from Columbia University, a BFA in Dance and a BA in Journalism from UMass, Amherst. Her dance career has spanned stage, TV and films for modern dance, breaking and air guitar. MiRi has appeared at Madison Square Garden, DTW, Central Park Summerstage, Joe's Pub, and on Conan O'Brien, among others. MiRi reps with her crews Fox Force Five, Tru Essencia Cru, and Breakin' In Style, and has worked with Rennie Harris, Marlies Yearby and Nia Love. She has presented her work on hip-hop dance at the Conference on NY State History, Oral History & Performance Conference, and the Society of Dance History Scholars. Her writing has appeared in The Village Voice, KoreAm Journal and Dance Spirit Magazine. She is the 2004 World & US Air Guitar Champion.
