Summer Intensive

Come study dance with Tony Award Winner, GEORGE FAISON!

Come discover the rich and powerful expressions of African American dance traditions with classes in Jazz, Hip Hop, and Dunham.  Come together to explore and share your own story through music, dance and the spoken word.  All levels of training and experience welcome!

Come to train with George Faison.  A widely respected director, choreographer and dancer, George Faison has the distinction of being the first African American choreographer to receive the coveted Tony award for The Wiz, the most successful African American theatrical production in the history of the American theater. George Faison has been a driving force in the theater as well as film, video, television, concert dance and concert staging for more than thirty years.

DATES

June 23 - 27, 2008, with a final performance of the students work the evening of June 27th. 

LOCATION

UMass Amherst Campus, Amherst, Massachusetts.
